Byrne is an Engineer in Training (EIT). In the Fall of 2022 Byrne graduated with a Master of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from Dalhousie University. His graduate studies focused on energy storage for renewable energy systems. Byrne also attended Dalhousie for his undergraduate studies where he received a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering.

Byrne is proud to work on projects which increase energy efficiency and renewable generation in order to decrease carbon emissions. A special interest of Byrne's is innovative and 'smart' technologies which help overcome challenges associated with integrating renewable energy technologies into existing grid infrastructure.

Having been raised in Halifax, Byrne has spent his life in Nova Scotia and is now living in the Annapolis Valley.
